Don't have a coffeemaker? - Make your cup of coffee without any fancy equipment.

If you’re a fan of freshly brewed coffee, it’s likely for you to have a coffeemaker at home. But what about the times when there’s a power cut, and you’re suddenly craving some coffee? You need an alternative for that!
Also, some people prefer not to invest in a coffee machine. If that’s the case with you, you’re at the right place! We’ve mentioned two ways to make freshly brewed coffee at home without using any coffeemaker.
The Stovetop Method To Make Coffee

Who said one needs automatic coffee machines to get their daily cup of coffee? With some basic kitchen knowledge, one can do it without any fancy equipment!
This method is perfect for people with limited kitchen supplies.
Ingredients you’ll need-
- Saucepan
- Ground coffee
- Water
- A mug or a glass
- A spoon to stir
Instructions to follow-
- Take some water into your saucepan. Make sure it’s more than the amount of coffee you’ll be using. It’s because while boiling and soaking the ground coffee, you’ll be losing some water.
- Now, add the coffee to the water and give it a good stir.
- Next, turn on the flames to bring the mixture to a boil. Make sure to set the burner to medium-high to avoid burning the coffee.
- Stir occasionally so that the grounds don’t stick to the pan.
- Boil the mixture for two minutes while keeping it uncovered.
- After that, turn off the flames and let it sit for four minutes. Doing this will allow the coffee grounds to settle down at the bottom.
- Now, pour the coffee slowly into your mug without letting the grounds fall. And enjoy your freshly brewed cup of hot coffee!
Handkerchief Method To Make Coffee

The handkerchief method is another very effective and less expensive method to brew a cup of delicious hot coffee.
It might take some patience and practice to get a hang of it. But once you do, you won’t be drinking your coffee with grounds in it.
Ingredients you’ll need-
- Ground coffee
- Hot Water
- A mug or a mason jar
- A clean handkerchief or a cotton/linen clothA mug or a glass
- Paper clips
Instructions to follow-
- Put the handkerchief over the mouth of your mug.
- Gently press it in the center to create a pouch big enough to hold the coffee grounds in it.
- Now, secure the cloth piece in place with the help of paper clips. Make sure to use enough clips (3-4) so that the cloth doesn’t fall while pouring water.
- Next, scoop a single-cup serving of coffee grounds and put it in the pouch.
- Pour some hot water and let the grounds soak it for 30-40 seconds.
- Now, slowly pour the rest of the water into the pouch.
- Once done, remove the handkerchief with the grounds and enjoy your cup of brewed coffee!
Takeaway
There are many ways to brew coffee in which one doesn’t necessarily need to have a coffeemaker. You just need to find one that suits your lifestyle, and you’re good to go!
